Interest Rate
The rate of interest varies depending on the type of business. The rate of interest depends on the bank’s base rate at the time the loan is approved. The maximum amount of loan offered under this scheme is up to Rs. 20 lakh with a minimum repayment period of 12 months, while the optimum repayment period is of 5 years. (The repayment period may be extended depending on the business requirements).
The amount of the loan would be determined by the borrower’s profile and in accordance with the following parameters:
- Retail traders: Rs. 50000 to Rs.2 Lakhs
- Business enterprises: Rs. 50000 to Rs.2 Lakhs
- Professionals: Rs. 50000 to Rs.25 Lakhs
- SSI (Small Scale Industries ): Rs. 50000 to Rs.25 Lakhs
Collateral Requirement
- Those borrowing up to Rs. 10 lakh do not have to provide collateral.
- Also, loans to women entrepreneurs of up to Rs.100 lakhs can be obtained through the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) without the requirement of collateral.
- A borrower’s profile may require collateral for a loan of Rs.1 crore or if the loan amount exceeds Rs.1 crore.
Offers and Discounts
- For loans over Rs 2 lakhs, there is a lowered rate concession of 0.5%
- For each category, the margin will be lowered by 5%.
- MSMEs need not provide security if they are taking a loan up to Rs 5 lakh.
- Companies registered as MSME can be given a loan of 50,000 to Rs 25 lakh
Application Process
It is not possible to apply for this type of financing online. Prospective borrowers must apply at their local SBI branch. Simply visit your nearest branch, complete the application, and submit your documents along with your business plan, which will be collected and evaluated by the bank before approval.
Submission requirements
In order for the bank to consider the loan for further processing, the following documents must be presented at the time of application.
- ID proof (Aadhar Card, PAN card, Voter’s ID Card, Passport, Driving License)
- Evidence of residence ( telephone bill, electricity bill, property tax receipt/ Passport)
- Documents proving the registered address of the business unit (lease agreement if a lease governs a business location) .
- Bank statements – financial statements, income statements, and GST returns for the last 3 years.
- Profile of company/Project report
- Governing documents of the Company/ Partnership Deed of partners etc.
